Can solar-charged devices be used on the nocturnal animals?
It depends on how well such animals are exposed to sunlight during the day (when they are not active):
- During the night, when nocturnal animals are active, there is no solar charging possible. So, if during the day those animals are in a place that is not exposed to sunlight, it means that solar-charged devices cannot be used in such project.
- However, sometimes nocturnal animals spend day while being somewhat exposed to sunlight. For example we have customers working on Fruit Bats, which sleep during the day, but are somewhat exposed to sunlight. Milsar RadioTag-14 devices used by those customers manage to charge in such conditions and perform well during the nights.
